For my Thesis I am creating a "fashion line" based on the aesthetic of American Football culture. I'm looking at Football as a cultural phenomenon in the US, on the professional level, down to high school athletics. Noting NFL's violent and abusive tendencies, as well as the exploitative nature of big sports brands like Nike and Adidas. The process of making the clothes was really fun, but definitely a learning experience. I had never dyed clothing before, nor did I know how to sew. I didn't even know how to use a sewing machine, nor have one until a kind friend saw my sad attempts at hand-stitching and let me borrow hers. It was many late nights and early mornings, but I learned how to work through technical issues and arrive at a product I am proud of, no matter the obstacles.
